First-time visitors to Cambodia will find their path into the Kingdom even smoother than before thanks to a brand new Tourism and Airport Information Counter that was opened at Phnom Penh’s Pochentong Airport towards the end of January.
The Counter, just beside the arrivals area, is staffed by a multilingual team that will be able to assist speakers of English, Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese, inter alia, with information on transport, accommodation, activities and more.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Luu Meng, President of the Tourism Federation of Cambodia which will manage the new facility under a mandate from the Ministry of Tourism said that it is important that international visitors are welcomed as soon as they arrive in Phnom Penh.
Cambodia’s tourism minister, HE Thong Khon, looked forward to preparing Cambodia to receive a target of seven million tourists by 2020 and noted that supporting structures such as this will assist growth in the years to come.
