One hundred and fifty exhibitors took part in last month’s CATA Fair, the first trade exhibition hosted by the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents. Hotels, destination management companies, tour operators, restaurants and many more took part. They gathered under the theme of “The treasure of Cambodia”, with the aim of showcasing the best of the Kingdom’s tourism destinations and opportunities and promoting them especially to the Cambodian public.

More than 5,000 people came to Koh Pich Convention Centre to see what they had to share. The crowd comprised those seeking to meet and connect with potential customers and business partners as well as those wanting to find out more about the wide range of possibilities that Cambodia offers.

One of the most important aims of the exhibition was to promote Cambodia’s destinations to a domestic audience that might not be aware of how Cambodia’s tourism attractions have transformed in recent years. “We want to encourage the local population to think of domestic destinations as the attraction of interior travel has grown considerably in the last few years,” said Ms Chhay Sivlin, President of CATA, speaking to the press before the fair.
